UN DIA DE OFELIA  is a photographic series created to honor the unrecognized labor of the Cuban housewife. Each work in the series takes the form of a small allegorical photographic sculpture, paying tribute to the undervalued and often invisible work carried out daily by women across the country.

At the heart of the series is Ofelia, the woman depicted in the photographs—a housewife her entire life, now forgotten by most. Through this body of work, her story and her labor are not only acknowledged but immortalized. Ophelia’s Day invites viewers to reflect on the quiet dignity of domestic life and to reconsider the cultural memory of those who have worked in silence, without recognition.

A Day of Ophelia” was the first color photographic series created by a Cuban artist to be exhibited in Cuban art galleries. This took place in 2000.
