In 2002, I held my first solo exhibition outside of Cuba. It took place in Mexico, at the Museum of Revolutions in San Luis Potosí. The exhibition offered a brief journey through the works I had created up to that point: La Canasta, A Day in the Life of Ofelia, Erotic Story, among others, formed the core of the show. Its central theme was to present Diary of a Cuban—my photographic diary.
This exhibition was made possible thanks to the support of my Mexican brother, Ramón Enmanuel Báez Sainz.

Although my work is predominantly in color, I have also embraced black-and-white photography. These monochrome moments allow me to explore emotion, contrast, and silence in ways that color cannot. In black and white, I find a different kind of truth—one that speaks through light, texture, and gesture.
