Trapped marks an early phase of photographic exploration in the artist’s development, situated at a moment of personal transition and technical mastery. During this period, Antelmo engaged deeply with analog photography: capturing images on film, processing negatives with traditional chemistry, and printing manually in the darkroom. These works reveal an early grappling with form, materiality, and the tension between control and vulnerability inherent in the photographic process. The series reflects not only the technical confidence of a photographer who knows his tools thoroughly, but also an emergent visual language shaped by uncertainty, constraint, and creative tension.
